Tradescantia

These plants get their common name 'inch plant' because of their speed of growth! Incredibly easy to care for, these make great starter plants and can easily be propagated. They come in a beautiful array of colours with striking leaf patterns and textures, some shiny, some furry! Tradescantia is native to North and South America where it can be seen trailing and hanging, able to grow as ground cover and inch its way around other plants.

Growing Conditions:

Light: Bright to moderate.

Temperature and humidity:  Warm. Moderate to high humidity.

Feeding: Fortnightly. Rarely in winter.

Watering: Water when compost surface dry.

Propagation: Division, tip cuttings.
